Greek Spiral Shield with Wave Border
Description:
Available here is a beautiful hand-painted 31 inch wooden shield featuring a Spiral design with a Greek "wave border" pattern along the edge. The spiral design and border pattern are painted in deep red on top of a light grey background. The shield's body is made out of a 1/2 inch thick smooth composite wood (which is considerably stronger and more durable than plywood). Dual leather straps are used to secure the arm along the back—one intended to be gripped and one strap that goes over the forearm. The shield has also been applied with several coats of varnish to further protect and preserve it from wear.
This item would be perfect for that upcoming Renaissance Festival in your area, or maybe some backyard brawling between friends.... Trust me, pictures can't do this wonderful shield justice, or show the time that I put into building it. Would also make a great gift for that Renaissance-enthusiast you know!
