THE SELLER:Greetings All,
I am Brennan R. Cook. Many of you know of me from my brcook website that contains the NASCAR Superbird VIN list sorted numerically. There are a handful of other pages on that site devoted to production statistics of the 1970 Plymouth Superbird. Others may have read the article in Mopar Muscle magazine back in 2007 call Roadtrip where my girlfriend and I took my Superbird on a two week drive around South Dakota, Wyoming and Montana. And, most of you have seen my car. When you Google Plymouth Superbird, my car is the one with Devils Tower in the background. That photo went round the world and even ended up in the New York Times.
REASON FOR SELLING:
This summer I will be helping a couple of lifetime dedicated Mopar people move some of their unobtainium parts that they know they will never use. Among these will be a bunch of Superbird stuff and other unique items.
Original used 3412150 3412151 Superbird A Pillar Wind Deflectors
This listing is for a set of used original Superbird A pillar wind deflectors. These have some deep pitting so my suggestion is to have them chromed. I didn't do this because I wanted the buyer to see exactly what they are getting. I am starting these out at about the price of the reproductions.
The question came up as to whether these were stainless steel or chromed metal. I have no way of testing but I do know the pitting was due to masking tape that had been on these for decades. If someone was an accomplished welder I guess the pits could be filled and polished but, again, I think I would just chrome these and be done with it. I compared these side by side with the originals on my car and the are identical including the thickness of the metal.
